A place of prayer

We are all in this together.

A prayer to hear..

“In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls upon men, while slumbering on their beds, then He opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction.” Job 33:15-16

Is what you are doing righteous in the sight of God? Would He consider you blameless and upright? What do you think the conversation with Satan sounds like when they are discussing you?

Does love come from your actions, or is there hate instead? Does what you do unite others, or does it divide? Do you speak life, or death?

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” Proverbs 18:21

The beginning of the book of Job starts out with God calling Job a blameless and righteous man, one who feared Him and shunned evil, Job 1:8 says; “Then the Lord said to Satan, Have you considered My servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God and shuns evil?

It is not until 33 chapters later that we find out where Job went wrong, which ultimately was the cause for the length of the book and the answer is found in chapter 34, verses 36-37 where we learn; “‘Job speaks without knowledge, his words are without wisdom.’ Oh, that Job were tried to the utmost, because his answers are like those of wicked men! For he adds rebellion to his sin; he claps his hands among us, and multiplies his words against God.”

There is a time when it is simply time to be quiet and listen, and now may be one of those times. Are you being tested beyond measure, and although you are good, and upright, do you still find yourself in the thick of it? Perhaps… it is because of the words you speak. Perhaps it is time to let God speak; for you just may find yourself led to a place of stillness; where peace can finally catch up.

Pray a prayer to hear; and then; simply be still and silent. Let God speak.

Heavenly Father,

Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path and it is written that Your eyes are on me and that You see all my steps. Father, it is far from You to do wickedness, from Your mouth comes knowledge and understanding and You are a shield; You are my shield. Lord, I ask You this day to guard my path and preserve my way as I incline my ear to wisdom. Deliver me from the way of evil, and free me from the ways of darkness. I repent for being wise in my own eyes and I cast off the spirit of pride in the name of Jesus; fill me with Your Spirit of truth, as I humble myself and give me ears to hear You Lord. I turn to You and I refuse to be ensnared by the evil one. You are my God, my Maker; who gives me songs in the night. I put all my hope in You, be merciful, O Lord, and hear my prayer. Blessed be You Lord God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting; in the name of Jesus, please help me to hear Your voice. In the precious and perfect name of Jesus, I pray; Amen.

Proclaim Proverbs 2:1-5: I receive Your words and I treasure Your commands within me. I incline my ear to wisdom and I apply my heart to understanding. I cry out for discernment and I lift up my voice for understanding. I seek wisdom as silver and search for understanding as hidden treasure. I understand the fear of the Lord and I find the knowledge of God.

Blessings: May you hear His voice and obey. May He restore your soul and lead you in the paths of righteousness. May you keep a quiet heart and honor and glorify Him in all you do.
